Weaning your baby can often be very confusing. With so much advice on what to eat and when; a tailor made weaning plan takes the stress and worry off parents shoulders. A weaning specialist will advise you on how to introduce solids to baby and what food types are appropriate at what age. When it comes to healthy eating it’s never too soon to start. In particular, good weaning practices can help your little ones learn to enjoy their food and mealtimes, as well as helping to avoid common diet-related problems later on such as iron deficiency, constipation, tooth decay, obesity and fussy eating. However it’s no secret that feeding children is often a hugely stressful experience for parents. Weaning can be an especially confusing and worrying time and one that is made no easier by the great (or not so great!) wealth of information available. Workshops run for two hours for groups of 6-8 people. The session is most suitable for parents who are in the early stages of weaning or who have not yet started, and cover:
- When to wean
- How to start
- Foods to give and foods to avoid
- Equipment needed
- Buying baby foods – what to look out for on the label
- Preventing fussy eating
In addition to this our weaning specialist can help with fussy eaters, and pre and post pregnancy nutrition.
